This was one of those lessons that I wish we could have definitely spent more time on. The birth of stars is so fascinating to me! And nebulae are so beautiful!! We looked at lots of pictures and watched a lot of videos about the birth of stars, and of nebulae.
We looked up info about the star that Adam named after me!! It's super close to the Pegasus constellation! (he did this while we were dating and I really thought it was the sweetest thing ever!)
We also made out own stars by punching holes in construction paper, going to a dark room (we went into our bathroom) and shining a flashlight through the paper.
The kids really liked that activity and continued making these and playing with them for days!
Next we learned about constellations. We started by making our own constellations with chalk and glass pebbles.
This next activity was a hit. I used white crayon to draw the names and shapes of some of the major constellations. They had to use water color paint over it to reveal the constellations!
