A little project for Lyla's nursery

So I'm addicted to pinterest... and ever since I saw this pin I've been dreaming of doing a similar project for Lyla's nursery. Since her rocker and crib are now in her room all set up, I finally felt free to start putting things on the wall so I started with that project!

I bought the dark pink wire (24 gauge, very easy to bend with my hands) at hobby lobby in the jewelry making department for $1.99 a spool... and ended up only using part of the spool for the whole project and it took me all but 30 minutes to make! Love easy projects like that! I already had the fabric flowers, so I used really teeny nails to hang it all up and voila :) So love the simplicity.

Projects for the Nursery

Yesterday I was able to get a little bit of shopping done and I took advantage of a sale at Michaels... frames were 40% off!! So I framed one of my favorite prints of Jesus with children and hung it on the wall in Joselyn's nursery. It looks great. I really love this print and hope that Joselyn will treasure this print forever.  I want to hang it in all of my children's rooms... I want them to have a constant reminder how much our Savior loves them.

I also bought some wooden letters to spell out Joselyn and did a little project with them this morning. I took some pretty scrapbook paper that I had, cut it out in the shape of the letters and glued the paper to the letters. I then sealed them and put Joselyn's name above her crib. The letters aren't up permanently just yet because I wanted to see how it looks first and figure out the best way to keep them up on the wall. For now I just used scotch tape, lol!!

I still have a few more projects I want to finish before posting all the pictures of the nursery, but here's one of our beautiful crib that Adam's family bought us with the letters above it. Does it look too empty?  Be honest... and if so, any ideas on how to fill the space without it looking too tacky?

A Few Glimpses

Here are a few "glimpses" of what we have for the nursery so far. The pictures aren't the best, but it's still fun!

The Curtain (white) and curtain rod. You can kind of see the blue that makes up most of the nursery. There are two windows in the nursery, and the crib will be in between the two windows.

A sweet little pillow I found that perfectly matches the bedding and wall colors we chose. (pink, light blue and light green)

The crib bumper next to the crib skirt (a little wrinkled, I know... just got it today) I can't wait to see it ON the crib!!!

Painting the nursery!!

Adam and I finally got paint last night, and he woke up really early (which is so uncharacteristic of him) this morning to start painting the nursery. He worked on it all day and had a little help from our niece, Melanie. It makes me SOOOO excited to have the painting done! The rest of our crib bedding will be arriving shortly and we will be ordering our other furniture probably next week. But here are a few photos of the progress! (more to follow)

You'll get to see the finished product a little later! The squares on the wall was an idea Adam found... after it was all done I was so happy with the way it turned out! AND it matches the bedding PERFECTLY. We only did the squares on that one wall... the rest of the walls are that really light blue. Thanks Adam for all your hard work today :) I love you!
