I don't think we've had this much fun together as a family in a long time! Our friends invited us out to a Lexington Legends game and we are so glad that we went. It turned out to be the perfect night, and the crowds were sparse- meaning we didn't have to worry as much about the kids running around and having fun.
This was a whole new experience for Landen. Joselyn went last year with Adam, but I doubt she remembered anything. She was also enthralled!
In all the years since the Legends have existed, I don't remember ever going to a game. I don't think I have! The energy there was great even with the small crowd, although I couldn't really "watch" the game because the kids wanted to explore all the cool stuff they had there! They had a merry-go-round, games and a playground for the kids. What a neat concept!
Gotta love this next picture...
We had great seats right behind the dugout- we enjoyed ALL of the baseball game staples to enjoy the full experience. Hotdogs, Crackerjacks and all that other unhealthy stuff.
We ended up catching a "ball" for Landen (a soft toy) and he LOVED it. It was the perfect souvenir for our ball-loving boy!
On our way home Adam and I talked about how much we enjoyed the ages of our children right now. They are just old enough to start appreciating family outings such as these, and can handle staying out a little past their bedtimes without it affecting their moods too much. Of course Joselyn's "Mom and dad, that was so much fun" definitely made the evening all worth it! I think another Legends game may be in our near future! Thanks to the Simmons family for inviting us out! So much fun!
