Good Music

Did you know that I love fall? Maybe I've told you that before. This fall has been my favorite. I've taken everything in and enjoyed every bit of it as much as possible with Landen and Joselyn. I have loved taking them to pumpkin patches, eating apple cider donuts and listening to good fall music. Fall is the perfect time for me to rebuild my music library- it's when I really start to crave music that fits my mood. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had much time to do searches - but I was lucky enough recently to be introduced to some amazing stuff and I can't stop listening to Mindy Gledhill!! Each of the songs on her new album Anchor make my heart flutter. Hourglass reminds me of Landen and Whole Wide World reminds me of Jos. Oh, they are just all so good!!

A night out with the girls

Last week my friend Stephanie e-mailed me to let me know her boyfriend Dave's band, The Coal Men, was coming to Lexington and that she would be here as well! I was really excited since Kasey was also in town and it hasn't been "us three" in a long time!

This was Adam's first night alone with both babies but it turns out they both slept the whole entire time. Not surprising for Joselyn but unheard of for Landen. I was glad they were so good for him and I was happy to get a night out to enjoy friends' company and good music!  It was fun to hear a few songs that were about Stephanie... I've always been intrigued by musicians and the music inspired by the people they love. Maybe because I always secretly dreamed I would marry a musician who wrote songs about me! Well, that happened and it's fun so it's fun to see it in someone elses' life too.

After the show, we took a few group photos of course. Our friend Bianca, who had also came to the show, joined in :)

After the show it was back to being a mommy. And no, I could not stop thinking about my Adam and the kids the whole time although I tried really really hard.

Christmas Music

About this time of the year I like to start listening to Christmas/Holiday music. I know it's a little early for most people but I could seriously listen to it all year! I just love the messages of the music and the way it makes me think of happy memories. This year I am trying to compile a large playlist to add to my ipod so I can play it at home or while driving. Anyone have any favorite songs they'd like to share? CDs you would let me burn? I'll be happy to do the same! I'm always looking to add to my music library!

Some of my favorites:

• Song for a Winter's Night-Sarah McLachlan
• Face of Love-Jewel (actually her whole CD is so wonderful!)
• Little Drummer Boy-Whitney Houston (I love this one because her little boy sings a solo and it is so sweet!)
• Any song from the Old Navy Holiday CD from 2000 (?)- it's like 40's/50's music 
• Manheim Steamroller- my parents used to play this a lot during the whole holiday season so it's very nostalgic for me
• Most any rendition of What Child Is This, O Holy Night or Silent Night
• Mary Did You Know- Donny Osmond
• Breath of Heaven- Amy Grant
