Valentines Day Weekend

I loved that this Valentine's day ended up on a Sunday... because that meant that celebrating could start on Friday without feeling weird... and then celebrate all weekend long! I LOVE Valentine's day. I love celebrating the people I love and I love all the pink & red, hearts and cute things they have out there. When we get a bigger place, I am definitely going to start having some fun Valentine's day parties... much to my husband's dismay.

On Friday, our church play group had a Valentine's day party complete with Valentine exchanges, cookie decorating and fun little games. I'm pretty sure my kids caused the biggest messes (spilled water on the floor, getting into EVERYTHING) but I can't blame them... they don't get out much. How do all you other mothers keep your kids so well behaved?? We still had fun though.

Here are the little Valentines I put together. Nothing fancy, but I absolutely loved the little stickers I found.

Joselyn and Landen enjoyed their treat bags VERY much... but not for long because they were promptly hid when we got home.

We have had about 8 showings in a row this week so time at home has been pretty limited. The good thing is, the house stayed pretty clean! I have been taking the kids over to Adam's parents and hanging out there a lot. After naps on Friday we finally got home to find some beautiful roses and chocolates from Adam. How sweet!Later on that evening, Adam and I had our date night and went to see Valentine's Day. I thought it was sweet although there were a few parts I didn't quite like. You wouldn't BELIEVE the traffic there that night! We drove around for about 15 minutes trying to find a parking spot but it was next to impossible. We even tried the shopping center across the street! Finally, we decided to park on a huge heap of snow that covered half of a parking spot since Adam had his Jeep- and it ended up being pretty close so we lucked out. Thank goodness for Jeeps!! It was hilarious watching me get in and out but Adam helped me :)

We spent much of Saturday spending time together as a family, and it was so nice. I am so in love with my little family!!

On Sunday morning I got up early to set up all the Valentine's day goodies and make a nice breakfast of heart shaped raspberry pancakes, thick hickory smoked bacon and cheesy scrambled eggs.



Too bad it's all over. Sigh...

Happy Birthday to the one I love the most!

Today was Adam's 34th birthday. As I look back, it's crazy that we're both getting older and so are our children. Growing up can be a tough thing! But as I age, I hope I age like Adam because he seems to get better with time. I'm so lucky to have him in my life. To celebrate all the reasons why I love him, here's a little video I put together:

I had originally planned a big day for him yesterday, but things got a little busy and so we ended staying home, ate PF Changs in our living room, celebrated with some chocolate cheesecake and enjoyed a nice evening together.

I also have been working on another little present for Adam. Let me give a little background first.

Ever since I have known Adam he has driven either a Toyota Tacoma or a Jeep Wrangler. He's owned 2 Tacomas and 4 Jeep Wranglers. He is a big Jeep fan. Loves the rugged manliness of it I guess. So although he was driving a Tacoma when I first met him, he was soon driving a Navy Blue Jeep Wrangler.

I have so many memories of driving with the top down in the summer- and the doors off. So much fun. But when you drive around without the doors and top on, it can get a little chilly. So one year I made him his very first Jeep Blanket. I got some fleece that matched his Jeep and my mom added a customer patch to complete it. It was probably the best present ever in his eyes. He still uses that blanket to this day as he watches TV... or while he takes a nap.

His next Jeep was a silver one- used - that we bought when we first got married.

But he really had his eye on a Jeep Rubicon... since we were doing well (at the time!) we decided that we would get him his dream vehicle- a Jeep Rubicon in Jeep Green. (not saying it was smart, but I really wanted him to have it) She was a beauty. (this was my favorite one!)

Well, last year we traded that one in to try and get a lower payment and bought a Black Jeep Rubicon.

Since this guy is going to be with us for quite a while, I decided a new Jeep Blanket was in order. So that's what I got Adam for his birthday. A black/Jeep Green blanket lovingly made by me :)

He LOVED it, and I'm so glad :)
