10/10/10 was an amazingly long day!! Almost right after I woke up that morning, I got a text message from my mom saying that my sister-in-law Holly went into labor early that morning after an excursion to the pumpkin patch the night before. (I like to say that I take full credit for this because Holly begged Seth to take her to the pumpkin patch after seeing my fun photos with the kids at the pumpkin patch!)
I was especially excited because Holly had asked me to document the birth of Rockwell. I had never done this before- but recently had a client ask me to and so I was excited to get a little bit of practice before that came around. So after getting the kids ready, we took them to my in-laws while Adam went to church and I went to the hospital to be with Seth and Holly.
Rockwell's birth story isn't really mine to tell just yet, but let me just say I have a new deeper respect for Holly and all that she went through to get my sweet little nephew here... and I just wanted to share a few pictures of the journey!
I was so proud of my little brother Seth too. He was so so sweet to his little wife- and I couldn't be happier that he takes such good care of her. It made me happy- and may have even brought a few tears to my eyes.
1-4-3 means I love you, and is a big part of our family's identity.
My poor little sleep deprived parents- I went into the waiting room to grab a brownie and found them fast asleep. It was quite adorable.
At one point, Seth sent us all a text message- but it was actually meant for Holly. He's such a sweet husband! But he will never live this down...
Rockwell was born via c-section on 10/11/2010 at 12:24am- barely missing the 10/10/10 birthday! But we were all just so happy that he arrived safely.
There you have it. Rockwell was 7lbs 12.3 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long!
After some soft begging, the nurses in the nursery were kind enough to let me come in and take a few pictures of Rocky- freshly introduced to this big world.
I would be lying if I didn't say this didn't make me want to have another baby... those newborns are so precious!!
Quite possibly my favorite picture of Rocky yet...
More to come later!!
