Christmas Craft since the kids are sick...

Today was supposed to be a really fun day- I had talked it up for days. We were going to go on the free carriage ride downtown- at least the girls were. But the kids have been awful sick and Joselyn was especially awful this morning. Her cough sounded like a barking seal and she had a temperature. So I took both of the kids in.

Horse carriage ride was forbidden by the doctor. No going outside in the cold unless necessary- and if we do hats with ear flaps.

I was bummed... and Joselyn was too. So when we went to Kroger to pick up their prescriptions, we got hot apple cider, chocolate chip waffles (Joselyn's request) and strawberries (almost $5 strawberries which is ridiculous but Jos begged for them)

When we came home, we ate our hearts out of the strawberries and I got out a bunch of stuff for a fun Christmas craft. Landen was just throwing stuff everywhere, but Joselyn really got into it- she wanted to do a picture of Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus so I cut shapes out for her and let her glue them on. She has very good composition... and what resulted is something I will treasure forever. I am going to frame it in a shadow box and display it every year. I love it THAT much!!

Look at the smiles on thier faces... and the arms!! I just seriously love it so much. And just in case you can't tell, the white fluffy thing is a lamb... it has legs too... and the green is a tree (or trees).

I walked into the kitchen this morning to find this beautiful masterpiece created by Joselyn:

I laughed. I wondered what she was thinking as she did this? What a cute little girl. Definitely a future artist don't you think?

Thank goodness for iphones. Joselyn and I had a lot to do today and one  of those things was to stop by Plato's closet to see if we could sell some of Adam's old clothes. Can you believe we had to wait 30 minutes?? They don't let you leave the store either... it's "against store policy" so we were stuck there. With my sciatic nerve bothering me as well as my big belly, my only option was to find a seat somewhere and sit with my squirmy little Joselyn. The only thing that keeps her attention for that long is my iphone with its many fun applications, especially the interactive ones. There is one application called "bubbles" where you use your finger to blow bubbles then pop them. It even makes a little popping sound! She loves that one. There is also an application that shows a koi pond. You can put your finger in the 'water' and it makes water sounds and it scares the fish away... or you can feed the fish by shaking the iphone. You can even hold your finger really still in the water until the fish come and nibble on it!! But what kept her attention today was the idoodle app. As implied by it's name, it's a program that lets you draw pictures with your fingers. All I did was change the colors for her, and Joselyn used her tiny fingers to make me this beautiful piece of art. Now I know why Parents' refridgerators become crowded with their childrens artwork! How can I not love this?
