What a day! It was so interesting to have to write everything down that I did today... it made me more aware of just how much I actually do and gave me a sense of accomplishment! I must admit though, that when documenting your life in this way, you look for things to do so it doesn't look like you're not doing anything all day! I tried to stay true though to what I actually do.
Here's my day!
7am- wake up to Adam's phone alarm - a piano playing a little tune.
-get out of bed and go downstairs, pour myself a bowl of cereal and sit down in front of the computer to check my e-mail and read some blogs.
-Before I can even finish my cereal, I hear Joselyn waking up upstairs and making noise so I quickly finish my cereal and go into the kitchen to make her a bottle.
-When i get upstairs, she is in our bed with Adam cuddling up to her blanket. She gives me a big good morning smile that makes me melt. I miss her when she's sleeping!
- I sit down on my side of the bed and let Joselyn lean on me as she drinks her bottle. We snuggle, and I turn on the TV in our room to watch some morning news.
-When Joselyn is finished with her bottle, I take her downstairs with me and let her play while I quickly get ready for the day.
7:30am- Ethan gets here and Joselyn lights up at the sight of her friend... they play and I watch.
-After a while, I call them into the kitchen for breakfast - half a banana, some honey nut Cheerios and scrambled eggs with cheese
-Adam comes downstairs just as they finish eating and we say a quick family prayer before saying our good-byes. Adam has a hard time saying good-bye to Joselyn as usual and lingers for a few minutes to soak in her cuteness.
-Play with the kids some more
9:45- Jos starts getting a little whiny and tired so I take her upstairs a little early for her morning nap.
-I turn on the TV for Ethan and let him watch Dora the Explorer while I play on the computer a little bit and work on some photo proofs from my recent photo shoot.
11:05- Jos wakes up from her nap and I go upstairs to get her... Ethan follows me although I told him to wait for me downstairs. Joselyn greets me with a sweet smile!
-since they are both upstairs anyway, I let them play in Joselyn's room and make a big mess.
-Brought kids downstairs to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. (am I a terrible person for this??)
12:15- Made lunch for kids - chicken nuggets, veggies and some fruit. Joselyn ate EVERYTHING. Ethan ate his nuggets and apples and picked out most of his carrots.
-Adam came home for lunch and brought me some KFC. YUM!
-Say goodbye to Adam, again :( and finally get Joselyn dressed for the day
-Since it was nice out, I took Jos and Ethan for a walk to the duck pond and checked the mail while I was out it. They LOVED it! I did too... we sat and watched the ducks while enjoying the cool breeze.
1:45pm- get home from our walk and put the kids straight down for their naps. Ethan went right down.
- Joselyn is unusually fighting her nap, so I rock her a little. As I sit there and rock her, I felt my baby boy move and kick a ton. I think about how I can't wait to meet the little guy.
-After finally getting Joselyn down to sleep, I take out the new PB Kids catalog that I just got in the mail and look through it. I tear out a few pages that I like- mostly Thanksgiving and Christmas ideas to tuck away for the future.
-I checked my e-mail again and picked up the house a little, did some laundry
-I get a phone call from the Herald Leader asking me if I want to renew my subscription- she was very pushy. My paper just piles up on the front porch anyway, so I said no. I only got the subsciption in the first place because I got a free Kroger gift card for signing up for a month! (and I like the Sunday coupons)
-I sit down to relax a little and get a phone call from a friend who says she is going to stop by with her daughter, so I hurry and put a little make-up on
-My friend arrives and we have a nice talk
3pm- Joselyn wakes up from her afternoon nap and soon afterwards my friend leaves.
-I go to the kitchen to make Jos a bottle and when I come out, she is WALKING towards me.
-After calling Adam to tell him how amazed I was, I sit her down next to me and she drinks her bottle as I check my e-mail AGAIN.
-When Joselyn finishes her bottle, I spend some quality one-on-one time with her reading books and playing. I watch her walk around like crazy in amazement, and even got a picture of her doing it.
4:30pm- I take Jos upstairs with me to wake Ethan up because his dad will be picking him up very soon... he's been asleep almost 3 hours! Must have been the walk... we put his shoes and socks on and play until his dad gets here.
-I make a few phone calls and give Jos some Cheerios to snack on.
6pm- I have to drive to Nicholasville to a Photography Clients house to figure out what is wrong with the picture DVD I sent them. Joselyn has fun playing with the kids and watching the kitties they have.
7pm- Head home and call Adam so he can have some dinner ready for joselyn when we get gome.
-We quickly feed Jos a dinner of chicken and peaches, then take her upstairs for her bath.
-We wrap her up in her elephant towel and she is cheerful as we get her ready for bed.
-I read her her book "Counting Kisses" and sing her a little lullaby before laying her down in her crib. She goes RIGHT down. Adam heads to the gym.
-I come downstairs and read some blogs, then after reading a fun tag, decide to do it. (High School Tag) I can't remember a teachers name, so I call a friend from high school (left a message) and my sister (who answered and knew the name)
-I'm still filling out my tag when my friend calls back... we end up talking for 30 minutes. I love talking to her!!
-Adam calls to see if I want anything for dinner... since I am too lazy to make anything, I tell him to pick me up a chicken wrap from Sonic.
-He comes home and turns on the TV- we watch 'Without a Trace' together. I actually only semi-watch because I am busy typing up this post!!
