Bathtime Cuties

Now that Landen has sitting up perfected, we let him sit up in the bathtub for the first time yesterday. It was a whole new world of fun for Landen and he LOVED it. Joselyn got quite excited too and was showing him all sorts of toys to play with and teaching him how to splash. There were all sorts of giggles going on. I got so many cute pictures of the two of them, I couldn't post them all individually on my blog. So after these few favorites, watch my little slideshow of all the fun. You won't wanna miss it.

 

Gotta love babies all lathered up in soap. I love doing Joselyn's hair into a mohawk. It's starting to get a little too long for it, but Joselyn always comments on how pretty it is. She doesn't even have to look in the mirror. She just knows.



Landen was having fun chewing on the foam numbers... it was so funny though cause he would stick a number in his mouth and chew on it then play with other toys with his two free hands. So a little number was just hanging from his mouth the whole time. Adam and I were getting laughs over it.

 

Joselyn was cracking me up as she brushed her teeth. She started making the silliest faces in the mirror. Must have gotten that from Adam? Seems like an Adam thing to do. She ahs always loved to sit at the edge of the sink, turn the water on and let the water run over her feet. I personally don't think there is a cuter sight than seeing a little baby wearing a hooded towl (a lady bug one at that) brushing her teeth and making silly faces in the mirror.

Landen's First Tooth

This came as a surprise! As I've mentioned before, I did not get my first tooth until I was 14 months old. And Joselyn didn't get her first until she turned 1. So I really wasn't expecting to see a little white jagged tooth peeking out from Landen's gums for a few more months. But yesterday, I caught a glimpse. I pried his mouth open and saw it. I ran my finger across it and felt it. It was really there! Joselyn will surely think twice before she puts her finger in his mouth again!

I can't help but think that THIS is why he hasn't been sleeping well? I hope that's why, because maybe we can then do something about it.

The many faces of Landen

I know why Landen has red hair. His personality can be quite firey sometimes. If you're at the store and you hear a loud baby scream at the top of his lungs, you can almost safely assume that is my little Landen. He's very sensitive too- his feelings get hurt real easily. But Landen can go from mad to happy in an instant. And when he smiles, it melts all your cares away. In a nutshell, Landen wears his heart on his sleeve. And I love all the little emotions that come out on his little face. Here are some of his happy faces.

When things get a little rough for my sweet daughter, I like to cheer her up by putting her in front of the computer to watch You Tube. She almost ALWAYS stops her crying or whining and gets a big smile on her face. Of course it can't be just ANY video, the following are her favorites:

Our life as we once knew it is now over... nothing is safe ever again because Joselyn is doing this..

Happy in the water

 
See that? It's a smile!! After a minute of me holding her she was splashing in the water having lots of fun, and the transition to floatie was easy. So she likes water after all!


My dad is in town this week from Canada so we pretty much spent the whole day at my parents house. We spent time in the pool, had a barbeque, made ice cream and enjoyed each others' company. We had a good day. My dad will be here all week and then my mom, Adam, Joselyn and I will drive up to Canada and spend the weekend there. We look forward to our little road trip!

Scootin'

Joselyn has been spinning herself around for quite some time now, but she could never "get" anywhere outside her little circle without rolling around which she doesn't like to do much anymore... until TODAY! She was ALL over the place when she learned she could "scoot" to get to things she wants like keys and shoes and all those other delicious things she can put in her mouth. It was fun to see her so mobile and to see her excitement over her new found freedom. It's almost like she is crawling but with one leg... she uses her left leg to propel herself in the forward direction. We think she may actually crawl AFTER all... and probably soon! I guess we better start baby proofin'.

Washing Faces

I don't know a baby who likes his/her face being washed, do you? Well, Joselyn is no exception. After a messy meal time, the sight of the washcloth makes her squirm and wriggle in her high chair. So IMAGINE Joselyn's delight when she finds a washcloth in the pile of clean laundry I had on the couch and gets to wash MY face. She got the BIGGEST smile on her face as I let her wash my face off with the wash cloth. I even showed her how to do it correctly and that made her smile even bigger. Maybe it will teach her that getting her face washed really isn't so bad!

Fun in the sun

Today Joselyn gave the pool another try... with no success. It was an itty bitty baby pool and we even made sure the water was warm. Unfortunately, even with her favorite bath toy, she was MUCH happier just sitting on mommy's lap watching Autumn and Melanie play in the sprinklers... while chewing on her favorite bath toy. In other words, the only way to keep her from screaming was letting her sit on my lap. We're gonna have to practice a little. I was SURE she wouldn't mind it because it's not much different from her bath, but she froze and screamed as soon as ger feet touched the warm water. My parents just got an above-ground pool today so we'll probably be heading over there quite a bit to get her used to the water. Maybe after a few tries she'll be ok with it... or maybe if I'm holding her close to me she'll do ok. I don't know. My mom and Chelsea even got her a special floatie so she should be good to go! We may even go try it out tomorrow!

If my white legs don't blind you and you can see this picture, take a look at joselyn's pathetic party pooper face. Poor thing. But it was a nice day to enjoy some sun and at least Autumn and Melanie had fun!

Joselyn Dancing

I have been trying and trying different ways to get the video of Joselyn dancing on here... Google video was messing up and last time I used Youtube it seemed to mess my blog up. (although I think it was actually something else) I even tried to upload it on my other blog, but that was taking too long too, so I am once again giving Youtube a try. I hope this works!
